Description
Summary:This Excel spreadsheet makes calculations for partilly full pipe flow of a liquid of spedified density and viscosity. It has worksheets to calculate 1) liquid flow rate and viscosity, 2) required diameter for a target depth/diameter ratio, 3) normal depth, and 4) required pipe slope. These worksheets use the Darcy-Weisbach equation rather than the Manning equation for the calculations, thus allowing the calculations to be made for other liquids as well as for water. An iterative calculation is made in worksheets 1, 2, and 3, listed above as part of the calculation. These iterative calculations are facilitated with the Excel Goal Seek function. There is a U.S. version and an S.I. version of the spreasheet.
